Congratulations to Lightning eighth grader Kate Young, who finished 41st overall out of 88 skiers Wednesday at the State Alpine meet at Giant’s Ridge in Biwabik. Young skied a 42.69 in her first run and a 42.85 in her second run to move way up from her 57th seed position.

The Eastview Girls Nordic Ski Team competed in a South Suburban Conference meet this week at Hyland Recreation Area. The Lightning Boys Varsity Alpine Ski Team took 5th place overall Friday at the 19-team Buck Hill Invitational in Burnsville in fog-shrouded race conditions.
