Despite a great team effort, the Lightning fell to the St. Louis Park Orioles tonight, 3 sets to 1. After dropping the first set, the team got out to a 5 point lead before battling out the 2 point win to even the match at 1 set a piece. The Orioles took the third with more solid blocking and smart offense. The Lightning got down early, but battled back into a see saw battle from 23-23 all the way to the final score of 28-30.
The Lightning played with great energy and heart in the match. In the final set, the team fed off the amazing energy from the crowd as both cheering sections got into it. The team comes back to play Kasson-Mantorville next Tuesday in Kasson before heading to Marshall for the first tournament of the season.
