The Lightning girls varsity volleyball team won a dog fight with the Blaze from Burnsville on Tuesday night in five sets. After winning a tight first set, the Lightning cruised in the second set. The Blaze ramped up the intensity and ground out a win in the 3rd and led the whole way in the 4th. The 5th set was back and forth, but the Lightning ralled to close it out 15-12. It was a gritty performance by the team to move the conference record to 2-0.
The team is in action again on Monday when they travel to Edina.
