The Eastview girls’ lacrosse lost to South Suburban Conference rivals Farming 8 to 10. The game looked to be a defensive tilt from the early parts of the game. Farmington would get the first goal four minutes into play. Eastview would get on the scoreboard with a run of three quick goals starting 8 minutes into the game. Mary Keating would get the scoring started with a free position goal with 17:00 left in the half. Holly Sodomka would break free and drive to the middle of the field for her goal a little over a minute later. Keating would get the Lightning’s third goal on another free position shot. Farmington would score to cut the Eastview lead to 3 to 2 with 11:01 left in the half. The Lightning would score the next two goals when Annie Luzum got open in the middle of the defense on a nice cut. Just two minutes later Marissa Munos would score on a similar cutting play to increase Eastview’s lead to 5 to 2 with 6:18 left to play in the first half. Farmington would score a goal right before half to go into intermission trailing the Lightning 5 to 3.
The second half started with Keating extending the Lightning lead with another free position goal just two minutes into play to take a 6 to 3 lead. Farmington would take control of the game with the next four goals from 19:53 to 16:42 showing on the clock. Keating would end the four goal run with another free position goal with 10:53 left in the game. That goal would tie the score at 7 to 7. However, the Tigers would score the next three goals to take a 10 to 7 lead on the Lighting. Eastview would score the final goal of the game when Munos converted a free position opportunity with 1:58 left to play. The Lightning next host Prior Lake in a South Suburban Conference matchup, Thursday, May 17th at 5:30PM.
