Thursday evening saw the Eastview girls’ lacrosse team win a conference matchup against Eagan 15-6. The Lightning would come out firing early, taking control of the game while never allowing Eagan to tie or take lead in the game. Eastview controlled the ball for long stretches of the game and jumped out to to a 3-0 lead before Eagan scored two goals to put pressure on the Lightning with 15:12 to play in the first half. The two teams would exchange two goal spurts with Eastview getting the final two goals of the half to take a 7-4 lead into intermission.
Eagan would start the scoring off in the second half, but then Eastview answered with a four-goal run. The Wildcats would score their second and final goal of the half to stop the Lightning run only to see Eastview go on another four-goal run to finish the game out.
It was the final regular season home game for the team and seniors Megan Bateman, Ashley Boyer, Mackenzie Chvatal, Anna Eidum, Claire Jordahl, and Annie Luzum.
Leading the scoring for the Lightning were Annie Luzum (4 goals, 1 assist), Mackenzie Chvatal (4 gs), Jessica Wilhelm (2 gs, 1 asts), Chloe Benadum (1 g, 2 ast), Claire Jordahl (1 g, 1 ast), Megan Bateman (1 g), Kayla Doyle (1 g), Natalie Pace (1g) and Darby O’Neil (1 ast). The Lightning next travel to Woodbury to play East Ridge, Saturday May 18th at 4:00 PM.
