The Eastview Varsity Girls Basketball team took on St Michael-Albertville at the Breakdown Sports Girls’ Tip Off Classic on Saturday morning at Hopkins High School. The Lightning were able to use their size and experience against a smaller and younger St. Michael-Albertville team, and were able to leave with a 60-43 win against the Knights. Eastview was led in scoring by Mariah Alipate, who finished with 17 points. Alipate also grabbed 8 rebounds and had two assists. Macy Guebert followed in double figures as well as she finished with 10 points, to go along with 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Megan Walstad cleaned up the boards as she finished with a team high 16 rebounds! Walstad also finished with 9 points, 4 blocks, and 3 assists. Courtney Carson and Andrea Abrams each finished with 6 points. Abrams finished with 6 rebounds and 2 steals, while Carson finished with 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Cassidy Carson (5 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, Emma Carpenter (4 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds), and Jordan Morris (3 points, 5 rebounds) rounded out the scoring for Eastview. The Lightning are now 3-0 on the season.

Eastview returns to play on Tuesday as they open Conference play at Rosemount. Game time is set for 7:00. Come out and show your support as the girls take on the Irish! Go Lightning!
