The Eastview Lightning Girls Varsity basketball team was able to open up the Section 3-4A tournament with a 63-24 win over #8 seeded Eagan on Wednesday night. Eastview once again had a balanced attack on offense as 3 girls finished in double figures and 8 different girls scored. The Lightning were led by a hot shooting Andrea Abrams who finished with 19 points (6/7 FGs including 5/6 3 point FGs). Abrams also grabbed 3 rebounds. Mariah Alipate and Megan Walstad both followed with 15 points each. Walstad grabbed another double double as she finished with 10 rebounds, to go along with 3 steals, 2 assists and 2 blocks, while Alipate finished with 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Emma Carpenter led the Lightning with 6 assists on the night. Carpenter and Courtney Carson each finished with 4 points. Carpenter and Carson each also grabbed 3 rebounds. Macy Guebert finished with 3 points, Jordan Morris with 2 points, and Cassidy Carson with 1 point to round out the scoring for Eastview. Guebert also grabbed 4 rebounds, 3 steals and had 3 assists, Morris had 3 rebounds, and Carson finished with 6 rebounds. With the win, the Lightning are now 27-0 on the season.

Eastview returns to the court on Saturday, March 3rd in the Section semi-finals at Concordia University St Paul. The Lightning face off against #4 Hastings. Hastings played and beat #5 Rosemount, 54-50 on Wednesday night. Game is at 6:00 pm. Come out and cheer on the Lightning girls as they look to keep their season going! Go Lightning!

*Section semi-finals will be played at 6:00 and 8:00 on Saturday, March 3rd
