The Eastview Sophomore Baseball team won 7-0 over Lakeville North on Monday. Jack Pepin pitched a complete game gem allowing only two hits, one walk, and threw five strikeouts in the win. A tied game at 0-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning, with two outs, Aaron Lagios walked followed by a Luke Johnson single to put Lagios at second. After Max Simser walked to load the bases, Josh Breuer singled to right-center field scoring Lagios and Johnson. Dylan Dietrich hit an infield single to score Simser for a 3-0 lead. The Lightning added some insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning after a couple Panther errors and timely base-running by the home team. Josh Breuer, the birthday boy, went 4-4 with four singles and three RBI’s. Johnson and Dietrich each had two hits. The Lightning (10-5 overall record) play at Farmington on Wednesday night.
