The Eastview Alpine Boys finished 6th Thursday night on a mild night almost ideal for skiing. The snow was perfect but the course was set to be extremely difficult and technical with hairpin turns at the top and bottom that saw many skiers miss gates and having to backtrack. The Eastview skiers all handled the tough course and not one skier had issues for the best overall meet of the year. Senior Ryan Whalen who took the hairpin turns so aggressively, his body was almost parallel with the ground and his helmet was almost touching the snow. Ryan smoked runs of 22 and 4/5ths and 23 flat to finish 3rd overall.
After Ryan, sophomore Noah Rolling continued a solid season by finishing 26th overall. Junior Nicholas Leichner had no issues with the course today and finished with sub 30 times for the first time this season. Next was 8th grader Max Espena and sophomore Finn Ward who each had runs in 31 and change. Also earning points for Eastview were freshmen Zach Kier and Nathaniel Reedstrom. The boys will hope to improve their best standing of the season next week in the final varsity meet of the season.
