Carson Berg was brilliant on the hill on Thursday night, as he threw a complete game no-hitter to lead the Eastview Lightning Sophomore team past Apple Valley 10-0. Berg pitched seven innings allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out 11 batters. The Lightning offense got out to a quick lead scoring five runs in the first inning. Josh Breuer, Dylan Dietrich, and Austin Field started the first inning off with each hitting a single. After a walk and a couple of errors, the Lightning scored five runs. Luke Johnson and Berg also had hits. From there, it was all Berg pitching lights out and allowing only three baserunners on two walks and one hit-by-pitch. Zeke Nachtigal had a fantastic game reaching bases on ball twice and by hit-by-pitch along with catching and calling pitches for the no-hitter. The Lightning (8-5 overall record) will play at Lakeville South on Friday. Go Lightning!
