The Eastview Boys Swim and Dive team kicked off their 2017/18 season with a big win at home against Lakeville South.
The team highlights include a second place finish in the 200 medley relay for team Montgomery, J. Poppitz, St. Clair, and Hagen. Also in that race, team Kunisaki, Lambert, M. Poppitz, and Blodgett came in third and team Gloege Torp, DeSutter, Dyakin and Chambers placed sixth. Greseth finished first in the 200 free, followed by Thompson in third and Gray in sixth. In the 200 IM, J. Poppitz, Lambert, and St. Clair took second, fourth, and fifth places, respectively. Panikkar touched second in the 50 free, followed by S. Hagen in third, and Montgomery in sixth. Divers Johnson and Sprung placed third and fourth, respectively. In the 100 butterfly, St. Clair took second, M. Poppitz fourth, and Kovacs sixth. Greseth scored another first place in the 100 free, followed by Panikkar in third and Kunisaki in fifth. Thompson placed first in the 500 with Gray in fourth and Fisher in sixth. In the 200 free relay, team Panikkar, J. Poppitz, S. Hagen and Greseth placed first, team Lambert, Gray, Gloege Torp, and Thompson took third, and team Robinson, Blodgett, Dyakin, and Fisher placed sixth. In the 100 backstroke, Montgomery was second, Kunisaki third, and M. Poppitz fourth. J. Poppitz won the 100 breaststroke, followed by Lambert in third and DeSutter in sixth. In the 400 free relay, first place honors went to team Panikkar, St. Clair, Thompson, and Greseth; fourth place to Gray, M. Poppitz, Kunisaki and Montgomery; and sixth to S. Hagen, Fisher, Kovacs and Dressler.
The junior varsity team highlights include a first place finish in the 200 free for Fisher and third place for Kovacs. In the 200 IM, Robinson, DeSutter, and Lilly took fourth, fifth, and sixth places respectively. In the 50 free, Gloege Torp placed third, Dressler was fourth, and Loomis sixth. Divers R. Hagan and Hayes placed first and second respectively. Dyakin placed first in the 100 butterfly followed by Lilly in sixth. In the 100 free, Zhu, Clark, and Dalzell placed fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively. In the 200 relay, team DeSutter, Yalamamchili, Gebru and Lilly placed fourth and team Clark, Olson, Homen, and Dalzell sixth. Chambers and Dressler took fourth and fifth places in the 100 backstroke, respectively. in the 100 breaststroke, Portnov placed second, followed by Robinson in fourth. In the last race of the meet, team Gloege Torp, Loomis, R. Hagen and Portnov placed second.
