The Eastview Boys Swim and Dive team won their second meet in a row this past Friday, beating Lakeville North in Lakeville. The varsity’s highlights follow.
In the 200 medley, team Montgomery, J. Poppitz, Panikkar, and S. Hagen placed first; team Kunisaki, Lambert, Dyakin, and Gloege Torp placed third, and team Fisher, Portnov, Chambers, and Gray finished fifth. In the 200 free, Thompson placed first, St. Clair was third and M. Poppitz was fifth. Greseth won the 200 IM, followed by J. Poppitz in third and Kunisaki in fifth. Sam Hagen touched first in the 50 free, Montgomery tied for second and Gray was fifth. In diving, Johnson placed second and Sprungk was third. Panikkar, J. Poppitz, and Lambert placed took the top three places in the 100 butterfly. In the 100 free, St. Clair was third, Montgomery fourth, and Hagen placed sixth. Greseth won the 500 free, followed by Thompson in second and Kovacs in fifth. In the 200 free relay, team Panikkar, J. Poppitz, Lambert, and Greseth took first; team Hagen, Montgomery, Thompson, and Blodgett touched second, and team Gloege Torp, Robinson, Gray, and Chambers were fifth. Kunisaki, M. Poppitz, and Dressler placed second, third, and sixth, respectively in the 100 back.
The JV squad also won their meet this past Friday. Their highlights include a first place finish in the 200 medley for team Dressler, Robinson, Lilly, and Wefring; and a fourth place finish in the same race for team Gebru, Clark, DeSutter, and Yalamamchili. In the 200 free, Blodgett was first and Olson second. In the 200 IM, Fisher, Kovacs and Robinson took first, second, and third (tied) places, respectively. Gloege Torp touched second in the 50 free, followed by Wefring in third, and Yalamamchili in fourth. Lilly and Chambers placed first and secon in the butterfly, respectively. in the 100 free, Dressler was first, Clark fifth, and Gebru sixth. team Wefring, Hendrickson, Portnov, and Lilly placed first in the 200 free, followed by a third place finish for team Olson, Dalzell, Holmen, and Clark. Fisher won the 100 backstroke and Dyakin was fourth. In the 100 breaststroke, Robinson was first. In the last race of the evening, team Gloege Torp, Hendrickson, Dressler, and Dyakin placed first.
