Eastview Boys Varsity Lacrosse
Game Summary at Chanhassen Saturday May 19, 2018

Eastview Boys Varsity Lacrosse falls to Chanhassen 9-5

It was cloudy and windy at Storm Stadium this Saturday. Eastview fans got to drive past one and a half turf practice fields, full of youth lax players, on their way to the their turf stadium.

The game starts off with lengthy possessions by both teams as they probe and press. There are many shots on goal for each side. Goalie Justin Dienhammer-taking a break from Rosemount’s Prom festivities – was all over the ball… Chanhassen finally scores after 9 ½ minutes and the most exciting quarter this season ends 1-0 Storm

The second QTR is all Chan. Four unanswered goals including one that Dienhammer blocked but it trickled by him anyway, nuts! The Lightning is tormented by truly troublesome transitions. The half ends 5-0 Chanhassen.

3rd QTR is a chess match for the first 7 minutes. Jason Hill gets the ball, battles around the back and gets shoved towards the goal to score! Chanhassen’s penalty is waived off due to the goal. The Storm retaliates on the next possession. Noah Desrocher wins the following face off, passes to Hill who hits Taylor Dubej in front for a fast break goal , 6-2 with the Lightning trailing. The Storm score two more on Lightning errors. As the clock winds down, senior long stick Jacob Wassmund scores Eastviews first defensive goal of the season and his first varsity goal. “Wassie” hoovers the ball from the Storm in transition, runs it across field, battles through their defense and scores with a back-handed shovel shot. Buzzer beater! The Eastview fans go berserk!

Eastview wins the 4th QTR but it is not enough to take the game. Joe Stillings scores early with assist from Connor Smith. The Storm scores again. With 2 minutes left in the game Ryan Krupke steals a Storm pass and gets it to Hill for another goal. The game ends 9-5.

Next game is against perennial conference rivals, Eagan! Tuesday May 22, 5:30pm at Eagan High School. Make the short drive over to cheer on your Boys Varsity Lightning Lacrosse Team.
