Eastview Boys Varsity Lacrosse defeats Eagan 8-7

Wow, what a game and what a night for a South Suburban Conference rivalry. The weather was sunny and warm at Wildcat Stadium. Both teams are used to playing on the dirt and weeds so the field was not a factor.

Eagan gets the first goal early on an extra man opportunity. Six minutes pass by before Eastview evens it up. Joe Stillings dances around his defender on the left to hit Ryan Krupke on the crease! With 2 minutes left in the QTR it is “Wassie” in transition. Jacob Wassmund runs to the half line, roll dodges two Wildcats, presses into the box, sees an opening and scores to take the lead 2-1. The Lightning wins the next face off and has an extended possession with many shots on goal. With 21 seconds left, Stillings steps down to make it 3-1. Stillings shot finds the back of the net again with 7 seconds left. The QTR ends 4-1 Eastview

The Wildcats score right away on a fast break, 4-2. Noah Desrocher to the right of X passes to Jason Hill for a goal, 5-2. Halfway through the 2nd QTR Desrocher on left hits Krupke cutting in to make it 6-2 Eastview. 40 seconds later Hill battles in to the box and passes to Desrocher who hits Krupke again for the wash-rinse-repeat, 7-2. Eagan takes a timeout to reset and scores one to end the half 7-3

3rd QTR is an exciting chess match. Hill scores one on a rough transition and Eagan scores on an Eastview error, 4-8

Eagan’s run and gun offense scores 3 times in the first 5 minutes of the 4th QTR to make it 8-7. With one minute left and the Wildcats in possession it is Taylor Dubej with the take-away! He forces a much-needed turn over and ends Eagan’s chance to even the game. The Lightning is able to control the ball and land the win 8-7. It was another stellar performance by senior goaltender Justin Dienhammer who won the nights MVP award

Please join us for our last regular season game at Eastview Stadium Thursday May 24 against Shakopee. It is senior night and the festivities begin at 5pm. See you there!
