EASTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL NAMES NEW HEAD GIRLS’ GOLF COACH

APPLE VALLEY, MN- Eastview High School Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Athletics Matt Percival has announced the hiring of Tamara Colluci as Head Girls Golf Coach for the 2015-16 season.  Colluci will replace Bob Boldus who has accepted the position of head boys golf position at Rosemount High School.

Colucci currently resides in Rosemount with her family and enjoys traveling, playing golf, and spending time with her three boys.

“I am honored and privileged to have an opportunity to coach in the Eastview Community!  Throughout my years coaching at Eastview, I have had the pleasure and honor of working with talented and dedicated golfers, very positive and involved parents, knowledgeable and talented coaches, along with a very supportive athletic director.  I look forward to being a part of great things in the girls’ golf program at Eastview.”

“I coach because I love golf and I love working with the girls!  The relationships I form with them on and off the course is incredibly rewarding as I help them grow as golfers and well rounded female athletes. Through hard work, being positive, and teamwork, we will carry on the Lightning tradition of success.”

Eastview Girls Hockey to State: Thursday, February 18th at Xcel Center – Details Below

Congrats to the Varsity Girls Hockey team who with their 4-3 OT win over Eagan last Wednesday night have advanced to the Class AA State Quarterfinals for the 2nd time in school history! They will play the #2 seed Edina on Thursday, February 18th at Xcel Center at 11:00 a.m. As a result of the game time there will be an early release/exempt absence process. Please see below for the details as well as the attached permission slip to return before Thursday!

Here is the plan for students attending the tournament as spectators:

TICKETS: Advance Sale tickets will be available for purchase before and after school and during lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and before school on Thursday. Tickets are general admission and will also be available at Xcel Center, but purchasing them in advance will save you some potential long lines. Anyone riding a fan bus is encouraged to buy their game ticket in advance as the ticket windows can’t handle that much demand at one time. Cost of tickets for all state tournament games is $17 for adults and $11 for students.

PERMISSION TO ATTEND FORM/FAN BUS SIGN-UP: We will offer fan buses that will depart EVHS at 9:20 a.m. Thursday and return after the game (approximately 1:30 p.m.) The cost of the fan bus is $5 per person. Due to this entire event taking place during the school day, limited and expensive parking during a work day in downtown St. Paul, safety of driving, and the long walk from the Light Rail Transit option, riding a fan bus is strongly encouraged for all students planning on attending. Students interested in riding a fan bus must sign-up using the online Fee Pay system at https://www.tiescloud.net/schoolview/sv_login_secure.asp?Signing up online for the Fan Bus will also serve as your permission to attend form and NO OTHER PERMISSION SLIP IS NEEDED!  Simply sign your child up online and they will be exempt for periods 3-6 on Thursday to attend the game.  The deadline for fan bus sign-up is 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17th  to guarantee a seat. This timeline is needed to order buses, arrange chaperones and purchase bus parking permits. Everyone who signs up by the deadline will have a seat on bus. We will likely have a very limited number of remaining fan bus seats available Thursday before school, but anyone waiting until then to sign-up is not guaranteed a spot on a bus AND would also still need a permission slip. We can’t possibly order additional buses Thursday with such a short turnaround time until departure. Everyone who rides the bus to the game is also required to ride it home.

PERMISSION SLIP TO ATTEND for those NOT riding a fan bus: This process is ONLY needed for student’s planning to attend the game, but NOT riding a Fan Bus.  Riding a Fan Bus is STRONGLY encouraged.  A copy of the required permission slip for these students is attached to this info and also available at the Attendance Office. Students need to turn in their signed, hard copy permission slip to the Attendance Office or Designated Tables in the Commons on Wednesday before school, during lunch, after school or as a last resort Thursday morning prior to 7:30 a.m. With a signed permission slip students will be dismissed AFTER Second Hour on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. and will be returning approximately 1:30 p.m. Students will miss hours 3-6 and will return to class right after the game. Expected, but not guaranteed, return time is 1:30. As a result of the time, students attending the game will need to eat lunch on the bus or at Xcel Center. In addition, for students not riding a fan bus the absence will be considered EXEMPT and not count towards the maximum absence policy only if they return their ticket stub and permit to leave form to the Attendance Office prior to 7:30 a.m. Friday. If the permission form is returned to the Attendance Office following the tournament, it will NOT be accepted. NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED AS PERMISSION FROM PARENTS FOR AN EXEMPT ABSENCE. Students are responsible for all missed classwork.

SEMIS AND FINALS: With a win Thursday the team will earn a trip to the State Semifinals at Xcel Center on Friday, February 19th at approximately 6:00 p.m. vs. the winner of #3 Eden Prairie and Forest Lake.  The Consolation Semis will be played at Ridder Arena at the University of Minnesota at 10:00 a.m. between the losers of the same two games. If Eastview happens to play in this game there will not be an exempt absence process or fan bus offering.  Students wishing to attend may do so with the regular excused absence process.

The State Championship will be played Saturday evening at approximately 7:00 p.m. at Xcel Center, the 3rd place game is at 12:00 p.m. at Xcel Center and the Consolation Championship is at 12:00 noon at Ridder Arena.  WEBCAST AND TV COVERAGE: If you are unable to attend, but would like to tune in here are those details: The Quarterfinals on Thursday will be available free on audio only webcast on www.mnsportsnetwork.com or on video webcast for a fee of $6.97 on www.prep45.com.  The Championship Semifinals and Finals will also be on Channel 45 TV.
