It is the philosophy of the coaching staff that all student athletes are able to contribute to the team success through commitment, dedication, and hard work.
Eastview has an 8 lane resurfaced track and fully equipped weight room to use for training. Practice begins the second week of March and ends the second weekend of June. Practices are Monday-Friday 2:40pm – 5pm and Saturday 8am-10:30am. The team breaks into groups for practice based upon what event they primarily compete in. Students will need proper running attire (running shoes, shorts, t-shirt, pants, long-sleeve).
Students should enter the season having done some event specific preparation work to help avoid injury at the start of the season. Students are expected to attend practice daily, if they are unable to attend they should communicate with the coaches in advance of practice. All athletes are expected to support their teammates at meets, at practice, and in class. Students should also take proper care of their bodies to remain as healthy as possible. This means eating a variety of healthy (and green) foods, getting proper rest (in bed no later than 10pm), and maintain good academic standing.
