Game Recap

Sadly, the Eastview Lightning season came to end in the section semi-finals last night at Wildcat stadium against #1 seed Eagan.

The Lightning struck first! Just 13 seconds into the game Junior, Abby Sutton scored a goal to give Eastview the lead. The goal was created off the kickoff by Junior, Lauren Glas and tremendous pressure and hustle by Sophomore, Cora Smith.

The game was back a forth for a long time with the Lightning defense anchored by Seniors, Mary Keating, Holly Sodomka and Junior, Mikayla Walters. Senior, goaltender Liv Johnson had some key saves and punch-outs. However, Eagan was able to knock in a goal off of a corner kick in the first half to tie it up. The Wildcats were also able to get a second goal off of a corner kick to take the lead and win the game.

Senior, Ellie Murray put the Wildcats under tremendous pressure all night and was able to earn a few corner kicks for the Lightning. However, the Lightning were unable to capitalize and tie the game. The Lightning gave everything they had to mount a final attack and each girl played their heart to try and get the tying goal.

Game Recap

Eastview advanced the semi-finals of the Section 3AA playoffs with a quarterfinal victory over Park of Cottage Grove on Tuesday night. The Lightning struck in the first half when Junior, captain Lauren Glas headed in a beautiful corner kick by Cora Smith. That goal proved to the game winner as the Lightning defense was outstanding all night long. The Lightning only allowed several shots on net and Senior, keeper Liv Johnson was more than up to the challenge.

The Lightning controlled the action most of the night and we were able to put a lot of pressure on the Wolfpack’s goalie. She made a few awesome saves to keep the game in reach but the Lightning held on in the end.

The Eastview Lightning will now take on #1 seed Eagan on Thursday at 7:00 in Wildcat Stadium. Be There!

Game Recap

The Lightning came up on the short end of the stick against the Prior Lake Lakers. The Lightning were battling tough through some injuries and the girls played their hearts out. However, it was the Lakers that were able to get one on the board and steal a road victory.

Senior, Liv Johnson returned to action for the first time in a few games and came up with some nice saves to keep the game close. Senior, Mariah Opheim, Eastview’s leading scorer, was poised to do some damage against the Laker back line but was unfortunately punched in the eye and had to leave the game.

The Lightning play at home next against Park of Cottage Grove in the first round of the Section 3AA playoff on Tuesday at 5:00. Be There!
