News · Important Information for Incoming 9th Graders!

Incoming 9th grade students and families-

Welcome to Eastview High School!  My name is Matt Percival, the Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Athletics. As the Athletic Director, I want to share with you a few important pieces of information about how to get involved in athletics at Eastview.  First, I hope each of you and your families is staying healthy and safe during these extremely challenging times.  Second, please know that as soon as specific guidance is available from the District 196 Pandemic Team, Minnesota State High School League, the Minnesota Department of Health, The National Federation of High School Athletics as well as Minnesota Department of Education and the Governor’s Office regarding summer (and eventually fall) athletic activities we will be back in touch to share those specific plans.  In the meantime, I wanted to share a couple pieces of important information regarding athletic opportunities at Eastview High School.

As shared in a recent email, we want to collect the best possible contact information from you to share with our coaches and booster clubs so you are able to stay in the loop with timely communications.  If you have not done so already, please take a moment to fill out the short survey at the following link: https://forms.gle/YXwc8zYqjSQGA7Hh8  This is only for Minnesota State High School League Sponsored Sports.  Currently we offer 36 different MSHSL sports in District 196 in addition to several intramural, club and student-led activities. Information regarding those non-MSHSL activities will be available through the daily announcements once we return to school in the fall.

All of our Minnesota State High School League Fall Sports are currently scheduled to begin on Monday, August 17th.  The sports scheduled to start on that date included Adapted Soccer, Boys and Girls Cross Country, Football, Boys and Girls Soccer, Girls Swim and Dive, Girls Tennis and Girls Volleyball.  We will keep you posted on any changes to that date as we learn more.

For all Minnesota State High School League sports a current physical is required to be on file.  If you have a current MSHSL Sports physical on file at a District 196 Middle School it will be forwarded to Eastview this summer.  For all others, here is a link to the 2020-21 Physical form: 2020-21 Sports Physical Form You can get a physical either by scheduling an appointment with your family physician or free physicals will also be available with our Official Sports Medicine Provider, Twin Cities Orthopedics, at select locations on select dates later in July.  Once you have a completed physical it can be scanned and emailed to joan.beckmann@district196.org OR mailed to Joan Beckmann, 6200 140th Street West, Apple Valley, MN  55124

This summer we will be transitioning to a new Registration Software System as FeePay will no longer be an available option not only for us in District 196, but also for the many districts across the state who also currently use it as their fee management product.  The district is currently evaluating other vendor options and that information will be shared along with more registration specifics sometime after the 4th of July.

If you are ever in need of sport specific information our Head Coach Contact information it can be found here: https://legacy.mshsl.org/mshsl/schoolpage2.asp?school=139
