News · Special Anniversary for the “Mayor” of Eastview

This coming Sunday, April 14th marks a very special day in the life of an incredible young man.  That man known as the “Mayor” of Eastview, Manager #1 of the EV Girls Basketball Program or simply as THE Michael Sheridan is celebrating his TWENTY-FIVE YEAR anniversary of his bone marrow transplant.  As many who know Michael and his situation are aware, this is a very significant accomplishment to say the least.  We are so extremely blessed to have his incredible sense of humor, passionate support for the girls basketball program and his unmistakable smile walking the halls of EVHS and helping out in the PE Department each day.

In order to show our support back for all he has done for us, as well as to support all who battle with Hurler’s Syndrome or other Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) and mucolipidosis (ML) diseases, we are officially designating next Tuesday, April 16th as a “PURPLE OUT.”  Of course for  Michael purple is not always his color of choice (because it isn’t Packer colors!)  However, purple is the official color of MPS so even Michael will be wearing purple!  Michael shockingly says no Vikings gear for him, but if that is what you have for purple than Vikings gear it is! 🙂

We have chosen next Tuesday, April 16th (instead of Monday) to celebrate this milestone as Michael will be out of the building most of the day on Monday for some appointments.  So please help us spread the word to anyone who might know Michael and let them know to get out their purple and wish our friend, colleague, teammate and “Mayor” a very happy 25th year anniversary!  For those of you not at Eastview High School please send us your photos of you wearing purple next Tuesday to or tweet them to @EVHSAthletics.
