News · State and Section Basketball Updates 3.13.19

Today was a great day for the EV Girls Basketball team who with their 48-38 win over Forest Lake advanced to the State Semis/Final Four for the 8th straight year!  It was great to see several hundred students make the trip this afternoon to Williams Arena to cheer on their

classmates in the State Tournament.  A special thanks to our fan bus chaperones for helping navigate the challenges of two late buses for the pick-up, to the students on those buses for their great attitudes despite the rain and to their parents for their flexibility on the arrival time back to EVHS being delayed.

Tomorrow night is a “double dose” of big basketball games as the Lightning Girls will play Stillwater in the State Semis back at Williams Arena at 8:00 and the Lightning Boys will play Burnsville at Farmington High School at 7:00 in the Section 3AAAA Championship Game with the winner advancing to State!

For the Boys game tickets will go on sale and the doors will open at Farmington at 6:00.  Cost for the Boys game is $8 for adults and $6 for students.  There is not any streaming available for the boys section final.

There will be a fan bus offered for those interested to the Girls game at Williams Arena for $5.  Sign-ups are available now on Fee Pay. The Fan Bus will leave Eastview at 6:00 p.m. and return home approximately 10:15 p.m.   There will not be a ticket pre-sale as tickets will only be sold at Williams Arena. Cost remains $16 for adults and $10 for students. The Girls game will be televised on Channel 45 and also streamed for free on prep45.com.

Good luck to both teams and Go Lightning!
