Sophomore AJ Green was in a class all by himself during the State AA Finals of the 800 Meter Run at Hamline University on Saturday, June 9th. Green came in as the top seed after prelims after running a time of 1:53:36. With such a great prelims time many were greatly anticipating watching him run in the finals. The crowd would have to wait as Mother Nature intervened just a few races before the 800 with lightning in the area and lots of rain. After the delay the participants returned and the spectators filled the stands. Those there to watch Green were not disappointed as he got off to a fast start and led the race the entire way. While staying with the pack the first 400 he then took off and had a huge lead as he came down the home stretch with a time of 1:52:19 and a first place finish!
