More teams are continuing to represent EVHS on the biggest stage! Here is the latest:
Wrestling:. Mason Enderlein competed in the State Tourney at Xcel Center this week. Unfortunately he dropped a tough match to the #3 Seed in his opening round and did not get a chance to advance on in the tournament. Great season Mason and congrats on the State Tourney Berth!
Boys Swim and Dive: The Boys Swim and Dive team had a great State Meet with each individual and relay participant making improvements from their season best times! The 200 IM Relay of Ben Montgomery, Daniel Pannikar, Jack Poppitz and Christian St. Clair finished 12th, Sjon Greseth placed 12th in the 500 Freestyle and 15th in the 50 Freestyle, Jack Poppitz placed 13th in the 100 Breaststroke and in Diving Alex Sulistyo placed 14th. The 400 Free Relay of Greseth, Montgomery, Pannikar and Brayden Thompson finished just one spot out of advancing to Finals despite dropping over two seconds off their season best time. Congrats to all state team members on a great final meet of the season!
Boys Hockey: Congrats to the Boys Hockey team on as Section Runner-up finish after just coming up short in a very exciting game on Thursday, March 1st at Braemar Arena vs. #1 St. Thomas Academy. The Lightning took a 1-0 lead in the second and were tied 1-1 heading into the final period. St. Thomas scored early in the period for the 2-1 margin and then added two more late as the Lightning pulled their goalie in an attempt to tie the score. The team finished the season 23-5 which was a school record for wins and also won the first ever conference championship for boys hockey in school history. Although the team came up just short of their dream to play at Xcel Center this week they certainly have much to be proud of. Thanks to all the fans who showed up to pack Braemar Arena and help make for such an amazing atmosphere.
