Following graduation Coach Stonestrom jumped head first into coaching by joining the staff at the newly created team at Rosemount High School. As a varsity assistant he saw the teams go from zero wins in their inaugural season in 2007, where they scored a total of 16 goals, to winning the competitive South Suburban Conference in their 5th season of play all while averaging 14 goals per game.

After the 2012 season, Coach Stonestrom accepted a role on Tim Roche’s staff at Eastview High School. While at Eastview the team has had continued success on field while also embracing mentorship and leadership models off-field. The most recent team posted an undefeated regular season playing with the team refrain ‘the Orca Pod.’ Coach Stonestrom has been a fixture in summer lacrosse leading Eastview teams to tournaments in Wisconsin Dells, Chicago, and Chapel Hill.

Coach Stonestrom lives in Lakeville with his wife, Kate and their infant daughter, Solveig. He works in Lakeville as a Site Superintendent for Tradition Development.

An intro “meet and greet” with Coach Stonestrom will be scheduled for all interested boys lacrosse players and their parents on Monday, September 25th at 6:00 p.m. in Lecture Room C250.

Quote from Coach Stonestrom:

“I couldn’t be more excited to continue the legacy of success that has been established here at Eastview High School. The support and culture at this school and activities department make this one of the great positions in high school sports. My goal for the program is to remain a state leader on field while continuing to development and encourage young student athletes who can enrich their families, social circles, and communities beyond the field.”

Quote from AD Matt Percival:

“We could not be more excited to have Coach Stonestrom as our second boys lacrosse coach in school history.  It was very clear in the hiring process the emphasis he has on developing meaningful relationships with his players and helping them realize the importance of everyone’s role on a team.  As a result of his purpose based philosophy I have no doubts the program will continue to thrive in all of their on-field pursuits as well.
