Game Recap

Eastview finishes the regular season undefeated and clinches the South Suburban Conference Title.
Tonight’s game was played at Shakopee’s Sabre Stadium. We had a cool night with scattered sprinkles and a double rainbow at half time. Shakopee comes out of the gate aggressive and gets a penalty right away. Noah Lindner scores on a pass from Max Herzog at 0:40. Joey Stillings will get the second goal on a skip pass from Lindner at 2:16. Tyler Hanson trades passes with Stillings and then shoots on the fly for the third goal at 4:19. The Sabers get on the board with 2 quick goals to make it a 3-2 game. Eastview then steps on the gas. At 8:49 Lindner will find a pass from Noah Joseph to score. Stillings gets a feed from Hanson and scores with a low-to-low shot at 9:15. Joseph gets his first goal of the game with Lindner assisting. First QTR ends Eastview 6, Shakopee 2
The action slowed in the 2nd QTR. Shakopee gets a couple goals in the first couple minutes to bring the score to 6-4. Hanson takes a pass from Stillings to score at 9:39. Half ends with Eastview 7 and Shakopee 4.
Shakopee gets a penalty early in the 3rd QTR. Joseph’s shot finds the back of the net at 3:22 with assist from Stillings. At 4:27 the Sabers goalie stops a shot from Hanson but the ball bounces out of his cross and into the net- goal Eastview! Emotions run high on the field and Eastview goes man-down on a penalty. Shakopee capitalizes to make the score 9-5. With 20 seconds left in the QTR Eastview regains the ball and moves into fast transition. Stillings brings it across the fifty and passes to Jason Hill. Hill’s bullet pass finds Joseph unguarded on the crease. Joseph fakes high, fakes low and tosses it in high for the goal. The QTR ends with Eastview 10 and Shakopee 5
Fourth QTR sees both teams getting penalties but unable to take advantage. Eastview dominates possession. Jacob Wassmund makes two huge clears to move the ball into Shakopee territory. At 5:24 the ball gets loose in front of the Sabers net. Joseph scoops it out of the chaos and shoots to score. Jack Peeters wins the next face off and runs the ball into the restraining box. Eastview makes a few quick passes, then Hanson to Peeters for the last goal of the game. Eastview 12, Shakopee 5.
Section games begin Friday June 2.
