Thursday night the Eastview girls lacrosse team lost to South Suburban Conference rivals Eagan 9 to 12. In an up and down game the Wildcats scored first. The Lightning answered back when Allie Tuccitto scored on a dodge she initiated from behind the net. Eagan scored the next two goals to take a 3 to 1 lead with 16:33 left in the first half. Eastview would score three goals in quick succession in the middle of the half. Holly Sodomka got the run started with a nice run down the left side of the defense. Then 30 seconds later Mary Keating finished on a her own run through the defense to tie the score at 3 to 3. Ally Hodgen would complete the run of goals with 8:24 left in the first half on a nice move from the wing. The Wildcats would score two quick goals to stop the Lightning’s momentum. The defenses would tighten for the next eight minutes of the game. Marisa Munos would get loose and score the final goal of the half with 4 seconds left in the period to pull Eastview even with Eagan at 5 to 5. The second half scoring got started early by with the Wildcats 47 seconds into play. The Lightning would answer back when Ally Ford collected a rebound in front of the Eagan goal and netted the tying goal at 6 to 6 with 20:55 left in the game. The Wildcats would take back the lead 30 seconds later. Eastview would tie the score at 7 to 7, when Tuccitto scored with 16:43 left in the game. Eagan would score two successive goals with a little more than 14 minutes left in the game. Munos would knife through the Wildcat defense scoring to pull the Lightning to within one goal to trail 8 to 9 with 13:59 left in the game. The defenses would tighten for the next seven minutes, when Eagan would score two quick goals and take an 11 to 8 lead with 6:25 left in the game. Sodomka would answer back at 4:59 left in the game when she weaved her way through the Eagan defense and netted a goal to bring Eastview to 9 goals to the Wildcat’s 11 goals. Eagan would seal the game, scoring their 12th goal with 2:52 left in the game. The Lightning next travel to play Shakopee, Tuesday May 23rd at 5:30 PM.
