Eastview Freshman Softball Defeats Burnsville Blaze 16-6
The Eastview Lightning Freshman softball team beat the Burnsville Blaze on Tuesday, April 11th at the Blaze Field, by a score of 16-6. The Lightning scored their first run with an RBI from Lindsey Krebill, but the Blaze was quick to come back and score with 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st. That didn’t stop the Eastview Lightning, however. Eastview’s bats came alive in the 2nd and 3rd innings scoring 10 more runs. The Lightning bats were loaded with a triple from Tia Diamond, and doubles from Riley Vanderpal, Ella Larson, Aimee Christenson, Molly Kussman and two doubles from Katie Dillon. The Blaze were retired in order in the second and third innings highlighted by a line catch at third base by MacKenzie Jacobson. Ella Larson pitched four strong innings with 4 strike outs to limit the Blaze to 6 runs. Alexa Christenson relieved Ella in the 5th inning to stop the Blaze in their tracks. East view plated 2 more runs in the top of the 6th. The Lightning then retired the Blaze in order once more, with Joley Baker having a hand in all three outs. The game was over in the 6th inning due to the 10 run rule.
