Eastview High School
Eastview Lightning started section finals at homes as a 3 seed matched up with crosstown rival and 6 seed, Apple Valley. It was a tough soccer game played on a rough and bumpy field. Senior, Molly Beckman scored early off of a free kick that beat the wall and the Apple Valley goaltender. That made Molly’s fifth goal of the season, putting her in the lead for most goals on the team.
Molly wasn’t done scoring however. In the second half she ran down a ball and beat the Apple Valley defense and goaltender to score the game’s second and final goal. Molly now has 6 goals and 7 assists on the season. The Lightning defense was tested but passed the test again tonight. They only gave up one corner kick and goaltender, Claudia Pueschner only had to make one save in eighty minutes. This makes the ninth shut out of the season.
It will be another district 196 opponent when the Lightning will travel to Eagan High School to take on the Wildcats at 7:00 on Thursday night.
