Game Recap

The Eastview Lightning finished the South Suburban Conference and senior night in style on Thursday night in the rain at Lightning Stadium. The Lightning hosted the Shakopee Sabers and went to work quickly. Senior, Grace Peck got the scoring started in the fifth minute to score her first goal of the season. Grace’s goal was assisted by Sophomore Lauren Glas. It was Grace Peck again just minutes later assisting on Taylor McGahn’s goal. The first half scoring was not done however. Right before halftime Sophomore Erinn Habeck finished off a ball played in by Junior, Taylor McGahn.

The defense and goaltending were outstanding as usual tonight. The Lightning defense anchored by Emma Mortenson, Mary Keating, Holly Sodomka and Lauren Glas were rock solid and only gave up three shots all game. Senior, Claudia Pueschner and Junior, Olivia Johnson recorded the shut out. The Lightning defense only gave up one goal in conference play.

The game’s final goal was a beauty and it was a header by a jumping, Haley Challgren off of a perfect cross from Molly Beckman. I will say the game had no more goals but Senior, Emma Mortenson did convert a half bicycle kick that was amazing. It was ruled offside in the end, but it was a sight to behold.
