Game Recap

Thursday, the Eastview Boys Varsity hockey team lost a South Suburban Conference matchup against Lakeville North 2 to 8. Lakeville North got the scoring started early when they posted the first goal of the game 55 seconds into the contest. The Lightning would kick-start their offense 7 minutes into the period when they converted a power-play and tied the contest at 1 goal apiece. Nick Hodgen would rip a shot past the Panther goalie from the left face-off circle. Max Herzog would be credited with an assist on the play. Lakeville North would take a 2 to 1 lead with 6:10 left in the period. Eastview would respond just 17 seconds later when Cole Anders netted a rebound goal after some nice work in front of the net, where Hodgen and Nate Bordson would provide assists on the play. The first period would end with the two teams tied 2 to 2. The Panthers would gain the momentum early in the second period which they wouldn’t relinquish. Lakeville North would score 5 goals in the period and hold Eastview to just 5 shots on goal. The Panthers would take a 7 to 2 lead into the second intermission. The third period was controlled by Lakeville North as they added another goal with 5:57 left in the game bringing the final score to 2 to 8. Eastview plays their final regular season game versus Farmington Saturday, February 13th at Apple Valley Ice Arena at 2:00PM.
