Congratulations on a good day one performance at the South Suburban Conference Meet. The Lightning were lead by the performances of Nick Spann, Anthony Mclean, Evan Sanders, and Joey Hinrichs who finished 3rd, 5th, 6th, & 7th respectively in the triple jump scoring 15pts for the Lightning. Competing strongly in the boys pole vault was Christian Lutton who set a new PR of 9ft. Also, having a great day was junior Tony Deziel in the 800 with a PR time of 2:11.98.
The lightning look to score strongly in tomorrow’s finals as top performances were turned in by 8th grader Manny Phoulom-Smith who set a PR in the 300 hurdles of 42.76 and finished as the 5th fastest qualifier to finals. Jahkye McClarron was the 2nd fastest finisher in the boys 100 prelims, and the 5th fastest qualifier in the boys 200. In the 400 prelims JJ Grimm and Leron Norton were the 2nd and 3rd fastest qualifiers on the day. The Lightning should also perform well in the 4×200 and 4×400 relays, along with the high and long jumps.
