Despite a slow start and only a 4 point halftime lead, the JV Girls Basketball team opened up the game in the second half and defeated Bloomington Jefferson by a score of 57-32. The Lightning applied a half court trap in the second half led by Paula Garcia’s 4 steals that created too many problems for the visiting Jaguars. Emma Sinn was the leading rebounder with 5 and she also added 8 points. The leading scorer was Brittney Sjulstad with 13 points. She and Jena Plagens also added 4 rebounds each. Other scorers were Allie Pickrain-8 points, Sarah Gill-7 points, Rachel Ranke, Emma Kiley, Plagens, Garcia and Ilea Decker. The team’s record is 20-2 and 14-2 in the conference.
